SHOCKER! President Obama Has THIS to Say About The Slogan “Defund the Police”

Share X Facebook Email
“Defund The Police.” It’s a slogan that has definitely gained some traction among liberals from every walk of like. However, one of the smoothest and most smug liberal of all time has something to say about this well-known saying.

That’s right, folks. Obama was recently interviewed regarding this ideology, and here is what he said:

“You lose a tremendous audience the minute you say something like that [Defund the Police],” he told Peter Hamby, host of the Snapchat politics show Good Luck America. “Using snappy statements like that will make a lot less likely you will get the changes you want done. The key is in your decision making: do you want to actually get things done here, or do you simply want a feel-good slogan for your core group of supporters?”

I don’t know. Is it possible that President Obama is having buyer’s remorse regarding this ideology and this phrase? If so, it seems that he isn’t the only prominent Democrat who feels this way.

Indeed, just last month, House Majority Whip James Clyburn told NBC News’ “Meet the Press” program, that while he himself doesn’t find the phrase distasteful, he thinks in many it has been detrimental to many election efforts. One example that Clyburn noted was that of Rep. Joe Cunningham, who lost to Congresswoman-elect Nancy Mace.

Obama’s Snapchat interview is part of his publicity tour for his memoir A Promised Land. For anyone interested, portions of this interview are going to be fully available to the public on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.

Another surprising facet of President Obama’s interview is in regards to some of the concessions that he made regarding President Trump. He noted that Trump made some gains among young black men in the election.

“I feel that men are definitely more susceptible to a leader who acts tough,” he said. “Leaders that try to project a stereotypical macho style will always carry some weight with all kinds of men. Black men are not immune to that anymore than white or Hispanic men are.”
