The president continues to make progress on his border wall, and there was actually a recent federal court ruling where they said that a lower court was wrong to deny President Trump from allocating $3.6 billion from various military construction projects to continue working on his border wall. Needless to say, this is a major victory for the president.

“A panel of the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals held that El Paso County, Texas and the non-profit Border Network for Human Rights simply did not have the authority to challenge President Trump’s decision to redirect funds from over a hundred different military construction projections, including a project that was going for as much as $20 million to redesign a road at a nearby base in the D.C. area.”
Ultimately, the higher federal court did strike down the ruling from the lower court. They stated that a nonprofit activist group simply lacks the power to challenge the president on whether he can redirect military funds for the border wall. All along, Democrats have wanted to use the courts to either force their agenda down the populace’s throats or to simply prevent the Republicans from getting any work done. However, this left-wing group found out the hard way that they do not have either the authority or the power to stop a sitting president from using military funds. Trump is the Commander of the Armed Forces after all.
One of the main ramifications of this is that now over $3 billion is going to be allowed to be taken from generic military construction projects in order to finance the continued construction of this border wall.
Of course, there is a small chance that there will some Democrats bellyaching about these being activist judges, but at the end of the day these are supposed to be defense funds. Thus, the logic that this circuit court was using is that since these are defense funds and the wall is meant to defend the country, then there is absolutely no reason why this money shouldn’t be allocated for this project.
Of course, Democrats are going to continue to do anything and everything in their power to stop this wall from going up. The good news is that despite the fact that barring some sort of legal miracle President Trump has likely lost reelection the wall will continue to be constructed.
