Trump said he has offered the White House press secretary job to Ultimate Fighting Championship CEO Dana White, according to a Truth Social post quoted by the Western Journal on Saturday.
Per the outlet, Trump wrote, “I am pleased to announce that the Great Dana White, a violent Fighter and Warrior, has been offered the job of Press Secretary of the United States.” He added, “Dana will be a Press Secretary like none other. Dana, please take the job!”
The ‘assistants’ Trump says he wants
According to the Western Journal, Trump also wrote that he had “requested that he bring with him assistants, even though some are not from our Country, of Islam Makhachev, Khabib Nurmagomedov, Justin Gaethje, Daniel Cormier, Amanda Nunes, and Kayla Harris,” adding, “We need these people to defend us against the Lunatic Left.”
No acceptance reported
The Western Journal report did not indicate whether White had accepted the offer.
Staffing moves noted by the outlet
The outlet reported that Trump announced Friday that longtime adviser Stephen Miller would become the next White House chief of staff, while current Chief of Staff Susie Wiles would shift to Trump’s political operation.
It also said Katie Zacharia served as press secretary for one week after former White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt left the post to raise her two young children.
What White has said about Trump
The Western Journal reported that White, described as a longtime friend of Trump, recounted comments Trump made to him after the 2024 assassination attempt in Butler, Pennsylvania. “But the thing is, with President Trump is, he believes in God, and he’s very religious,” White said. “He believes that to his core. That God has spared his life to be the president and do the things that he is going to do over the next four years.” White also said Trump told him, “I can’t quit… You don’t ever quit. You never quit.”
