Stanford Pro-Hamas Group Demands Free Round-Trip Airfare to Gaza

(Molly Bruns, Headline USA) Student activists at Stanford University demanded funding for flights to Gaza in order to “mourn properly,” along with several other demands.

Along with the flights, the ultimatum required that the university condemn Israel, that college officials call for a ceasefire between the embattled peoples and that the school send direct aid to Gaza, according to the Daily Caller.

The list—written and published by students of Palestinian descent—included “full round trip [flights] covered by University upon the signing of a ceasefire for students to visit their family and friends and grieve properly.”

The students also sought counseling by specialized trauma therapists for Palestinian refugees, free legal representation for students facing harassment on campus, academic accommodations from all professors for students affected by the situation and campus-wide hate speech alerts.

The students also demanded the university put together an “investigative committee to correct the directives, faculty and research initiatives contributing to subjugation of Palestinian people.”

This task force would fund projects such as water purification and rapid construction for refugee encampments, invite Palestinian scholars to the school for research and teaching opportunities, and identify the roots of Stanford’s “one-sided response.”

Students also demanded the school boycott Israeli brands, divest from Israeli companies and prohibit said companies from recruiting on Stanford’s campus.

“Without such actions, Stanford will remain an enabler of Israel’s ongoing genocide of the Palestinian people,” the missive concluded.

The students planned to hold the California campus hostage by performing a sit-in protest until their demands were met.

Several Twitter users argued that Stanford should compromise and simply provide one-way tickets to those students wishing to go visit an active warzone.

Universities across the nation faced backlash from pro-Palestine students after their responses to the recent attacks between Israel and Hamas.

Leftist students blamed Israel for restarting the feud, scaring away college donors and leaving colleges to deal with accusations of anti-Semitism.
