NYC Mayor’s Filthy Closet Swings Open

One of the darlings of the Democrat party was hit with allegations and a lawsuit about his behavior from decades ago. The sordid details fell out of this politician’s closet and sent shockwaves through the ranks of liberals.

Former President Donald Trump was politically crucified over allegations of his past personal conduct. Anything said accusing him was largely treated by the liberal media as truth and he was guilty in the eyes of mainstream media no matter what truth was revealed.

Now the shoe is on the other foot for liberals as New York City Mayor Eric Adams was hammered by an allegation of sexual assault by an unidentified woman. Questions are swirling if he will receive the same treatment as the former president.

From Breitbart:
As Breitbart News reported in November 2023, an unidentified woman filed a lawsuit against the mayor, alleging he sexually assaulted her while the two were working together in 1993. On Monday, the New York Times reported that Adams allegedly “asked a colleague for oral sex in exchange for career help in 1993 and sexually assaulted her when she refused.”

The events in question allegedly happened while the plaintiff and Adams worked together at New York City’s transit police bureau. The woman claimed that she feared for her life at the time due to Adams’ then-status as a police officer with a loaded gun.

Adams denied the allegation, and in December said the incident, “Never happened. I don’t even know who the person is. I don’t even remember if I ever met them before.”

That is a strong denial that sounds very much like Trump’s response to allegations against him. Denials didn’t work out well for Trump as he lost one case that is costing him tens of millions of dollars in judgments.

Adams’ case brings up many questions similar to cases against Trump. What is the validity of the plaintiff’s claims? Will the media attack Adams, a fellow liberal, like they did Trump? Will Adams face a hostile judge and jury in New York?

Adams’ accuser is also seeking damages against the New York Police Department’s (NYPD) transit bureau and the Guardians Association — a fraternal organization of Black police officers that Adams was active in at the time. All are named as defendants.

The credibility of the plaintiff’s accusations will likely be considered going forward. The New York Times reported that the woman, who lives in Florida, previously filed lawsuits in the past that were unsuccessful. These included failed lawsuits against American Airlines in 2008 and the Miami-Dade County Public Schools Board in 2009.

The woman’s lawyer, Megan Goddard, said in a statement that the woman filed the suit out of a belief to hold sexual abusers to account.

There hasn’t been the same fury toward Adams in this case that was hurled at Trump in his legal challenges. Adams, who has been under fire for his immigration policies and disagreements with Joe Biden, likely won’t face the same media firestorm as Trump. How Adams’ case plays out is anyone’s guess.
