Left Demands U.S. Takes 1 Million ‘Refugees’ from Hamas-controlled Gaza – Headline USA

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) As millions of Palestinians flee the Gaza Strip, far-left politicians are calling for President Joe Biden to admit millions of those refugees who had lived under Hamas control.

“Fifty percent of the population in Gaza are children. The international community as well as the United States should be prepared to welcome refugees from Palestine while being very careful to vet and not allow members of Hamas,” said infamous Rep. Jamaal Bowman, D-N.Y.

But Bowman’s push was quickly condemned by GOP politicians. “Middle Eastern countries should take Gaza refugees. Not the United States,” said Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla.

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., rebuked the proposal. “We can not take in 1 million refugees from Gaza. We would be importing antisemitic people, many who support terrorism,” she said. “Besides the Biden admin has already imported millions of illegals who should not be here and is forcing Americans to pay for them.”

Sens. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., and Rick Scott, R-Fla., told the New York Post that they would staunchly oppose such a move.

“The U.S. is the most generous nation in the world, but we are in no position to accept additional refugees, especially from a region with as high a risk of terrorism, given our nation’s inability to secure our own border or vet those who are already here,” Rubio told the Post

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis chimed in while on the presidential campaign trail. “Arab nations should absorb anybody leaving Gaza,” he said. “We cannot be absorbing people coming from Gaza to the United States of America.”

Rep. Cory Mills, R-Fla., echoed DeSantis’s remarks, saying, “Gaza refugees are not the responsibility of the United States. Bring every AMERICAN stranded home!”

As reported by the Post, the U.S. has already taken 25,465 refugees from around the globe, marking a 123% increase.
