Biden ‘Exploded’ When Afghan Collapse Ruined Vacation, Bombshell Book Claims

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) A new book by journalist Franklin Foer has exposed the shocking details of President Joe Biden’s response to the Afghanistan crisis that unfolded during his August 2021 vacation, revealing a president overwhelmed by frustration and growing backlash.

Just three days into his vacation at Camp David, Biden’s getaway was shattered when his national security advisor, Jake Sullivan, delivered the news of former Afghan President Ashraf Ghani’s escape from Kabul amidst the Taliban’s takeover.

“Biden exploded in frustration,” Foer reported in his account of the deadly incident, as reported by Fox News on Sunday. Biden later dismissively remarked, “Give me a break.”

While Biden grappled with the worsening crisis, Secretary of State Antony Blinken was leisurely enjoying his time in the Hamptons, and White House press secretary Jen Psaki was unwinding at the beach. Psaki’s contemplation of returning to Washington only underscores the administration’s inept handling of the situation.

Biden’s primary concern, according to Foer, was to evacuate as many people as possible from the chaos in Afghanistan.

According to Fox News, although over 120,000 individuals were eventually evacuated, the administration was deeply stung by the scathing criticism it received from respected journalists and pundits.

Foer reveals that Biden was fully aware of the negative coverage and lamented, “We’re getting killed.” Yet, his leadership and decision-making remained resolute.

Despite overwhelming evidence of mismanagement, Foer’s book discloses that Biden remained obstinate in his determination to withdraw from Afghanistan, even as the situation unraveled before the world’s eyes.

“In fact, everything he’d witnessed from his seat in the Situation Room confirmed his belief that exiting a war without hope was the best and only course,” Foer writes.

He chose to ignore the warnings from foreign policy officials, dismissing their advice as “delusional predictions of progress.”

The criticism continued unabated even after the withdrawal, as Gold Star families voiced their anger and frustration over the administration’s handling of the tragic events surrounding the U.S. troop withdrawal.

Mark Schmitz, a Gold Star father who lost his son during the attack, condemned Biden as a “disgrace to this nation” and pointed to the lack of accountability within the military leadership.
